Super Flap Discs
Zircomax premium zirconia alumina is available in three grits, 40, 60 and 80 with a fiberglass backing plate. The Type 27 extra thick, high density disc delivers twice the removal rate as our conventional Zircotex premium. It provides extremely long life and is our most productive flap disc.
Zircotex premium zirconia alumina disc is extremely productive and efficient. Ideal for high production grinding, blending, deburring and finishing, it performs well on a wide variety of materials including stainless and carbon steel. This durable grain resists loading or clogging on softer materials such as aluminum, brass, bronze and fiberglass.
TIPS : When replacing resin fiber discs, it is generally recommended that you select a flap disc one grade coarser than the grit previously used. Type 29 discs are designed to be used at a 15-20¢ª contact angle relative to the work piece - producing a small contact point between the surface and abrasive flaps. This narrow contact point is ideal for applications demanding faster stock removal or for finishing contoured or irregular surfaces. Type 27 discs are used at a shallower angle, 5-15¢ª. Their flat shape combined with this low angle provides the operator with a broader contact surface. These discs are best suited for finishing applications on broad surfaces.
